TITLE: JOB COACH

DEFINITION OF POSITION: The Job Coach works as a part of the supported work crew and is responsible for teaching and modeling work skills for the workers and implementing the workers' work, behavioral, and social programs.

REQUIREMENTS: Be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, display good writing skills, and know basic sign language. Must possess a valid Connecticut driver's license.   Must be able to obtain a Connecticut Public Service License and get certified in CPR and First Aid. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of positive programming, facilitated communication, and sensory awareness skills.   Preference given to those who have experience working with people who are mentally handicapped, have autism, and exhibit challenging behavior.
