Hello there!!!
Welcome friends from around the world! Camp for 2002
is moving right along. We're very excited about the
International Staff that have already signed onto our
team. They include wonderful countries like Holland,
Russia, England and African countries.
I have also recently heard from staff that worked
here many years ago. One in particular, Matjaz Vehovar
from Slovenia who I worked with at the pool my first
year at Camp Horizons! He sent a beautiful picture
of him and his family, his wife Petra and their daughter
Tinkara. I remember Matjaz' wonderful way with the
campers not only at the pool but also at dances and
in the cabin. It was great to hear from him and know
that he was ok.
Wee Ming from 2000 writes to me often letting me know
his adventures in business, Andy Allen was recently
here for a visit and of course our own camp team that
remains here at camp, Yuri, Marina and Corina!
The card from Matjaz and other notes I receive bring
back memories from my first time at Camp Horizons
and how after that summer, I never did actually leave
and remain here today. My friendship with Matjaz and
other staff made it a great summer. I truly think
that, in addition to the campers, the relationships
that develop at camp are life-long and are what keeps
people coming back!
Speaking of coming back…a HUGE welcome back to international
staff from 2001 that have signed on for 2002…. Amy
Todd, Anna Smola, 'Baz'(3rd year!), Nina Chorna, Linda
Astvall (3rd year!) and more each day!
