With our one-of-a-kind
intake day celebration just around the corner,
Ling from Malasia and Linda from Sweden paint

feel extra welcome in 2003!
Sharing years
of experience and encouraging new ideas, Director

Remodeling the
infirmary! Health and safety are top priorities
at camp, and the Marina’s from Russia pay
close attention to detail as they cut the final
pieces of trim for the newly-painted walls. Thank
you to all pre-camp staff who took part in this
project. It looks great!
The 2003 team gathers
on the softball field to “break the ice.”
Camp Horizons staff
test their creative problem solving abilities and
get to know each other a little better as they
untangle the human knot.
A view from inside
the knot!
With simulators
from BESB (Board of Education and Services for
the Blind) and some assistance from Lenin, Will
gets his lunch and a personal sense of the challenges
that many of our campers with sensory issues face
in their daily routine.
Jenna prepares
to take a leap of faith with her vision temporarily
impaired as Kim guides her into new territory.
In the scavenger
hunt Camp Horizons staff shows that genuine teamwork
can conquer even the greatest of challenges. Thank
you BESB for your time and for helping us view
our surroundings from a new perspective!
Anna’s unit
learns gardening skills from Winnie as they test
drive the first pioneering project of the year.
The pool rules!
Lauren trains the staff on pool safety and pumps
them up for a summer of refreshing swims with their
campers.
Safety first! The
well-prepared medical staff responds swiftly in
a lifesaving drill.
